OUR RESEARCH

Classical Philosophy in Popular Discourse: Interdisciplinary Research

The project was devoted to interdisciplinary research, combining political philosophy and jurisprudence (Z. Rau, M. Chmieliński, T. Bocheński) with researches outside of the Center, representing sociology (K. Staszyńska, K. Zagórski), both qualitative and quantitative methods. The main goal of this unique research project was to explore, operationalize and reconstruct political beliefs present in the popular discourse of contemporary Polish society. The result was a pioneering, original reconstruction of the political doctrine of contemporary Polish society – a solid basis for democratic politics, more fundamental and lasting than the ever-changing opinion polls.

The project “Classical Political Philosophy in Popular Discourse.” was financed from the grant of the Polish National Centre of Science (NCN) No 2012/05/B/HS5/00887 and from research grants founded by the Polish business companies: WBK Bank Zachodni (Santander), Grupa Atlas, Ceramika Tubądzin.
